Winery Overview & History
Dominio de Pingus, founded in 1995 by Danish winemaker Peter Sisseck in Spain’s Ribera del Duero, became an instant legend with its debut vintage. The estate symbolizes artisanal precision, old-vine respect, and unyielding pursuit of perfection.
Vineyard Location & Terroir
Pingus sources fruit from ancient, ungrafted Tempranillo (Tinto Fino) vines near La Horra. Deep clay-limestone soils, low yields, and continental climate yield fruit of remarkable concentration and natural balance.
Grape Varieties & Wine Style
Only Tempranillo is used. The wines are dense yet elegant—black fruit, violet, graphite, and fine tannins wrapped in effortless harmony. Long aging potential and seamless texture define the style.
Signature Wines
- Pingus — Iconic, small-production Tempranillo revered worldwide.
- Flor de Pingus — Second wine offering immediate charm and precision.
- PSI — Broader regional project supporting sustainable growers.
Winemaking & Cellar Practices
Hand-picked, naturally fermented, gravity-handled, and aged in French oak. Minimal intervention ensures pure terroir translation and graceful evolution.
